Subpoena

Subpoena (‘Under Penalty’, refers to a legal document which is a written summons to testify before court) was a small tableau exhibition in the window space of RumDVA.

On the window front you would find two qr-codes leading to an online 3d-animated meditation and sound piece by Anja Lahrmann adapted for the occasion of the exhibition. As well you would find two pieces NFTEA and the wall-object Print.

NFTEA consisted of dried rosehip shells wrapped in bags and ryegrass grown in the bedroom of the artist and her partner throughout approximately six months. The dried rosehip was gathered on a windy and rainy day close to the artist’s home in Aarhus. During the exhibition period it was possible for the cultural workers involved as well as the visitors to take home some of the shells to use for tea or something else.

Subpoena was an exhibition-project about which authorities we listen to, and how we hold space for ourselves and others to listen to the wisdom of our bodies in a world where the digital and the presence of technologies leaves its mark on our understanding of intimacy. How we bring the value of calm, health and compassion into technologies as well as into our relationships and ourselves.
